This event will give you insight into the world of programmable logic. I will present use cases for FPGAs as well as system-on-chip (SoC) designs, hybrid FPGA/CPU solutions which allow operating systems like Linux to harness the power of custom hardware through the on-chip high-throughput and low-latency interface.

A field-programmable gate array (FPGA) is a reconfigurable logical microchip. The programmable logic blocks inside of the FPGA can be configured to perform custom tasks by rearranging how the logic gates are wired together.

FPGAs are used extensively in high-earning technology sectors including aviation, space, defense, high-frequency trading, and blockchain/cryptocurrency mining. There’s little that can compete with the parallelism and processing power of the FPGA. These characteristics in combination with the intrinsic low-power consumption of tailored digital logic, make FPGAs ideal for a variety of tasks ranging from IoT applications to video processing.
