แม้ Office 365 Exchange Online จะมียอดผู้ใช้งานแตะที่ 100 ล้านเป็นที่เรียบร้อยจาก Office 365 Hits 100 Million Users. On Course for 120 Million This Year แต่ก็ยังมีผู้ใช้งานกว่า 250 ล้านคน ที่ยังอยู่กับ On-premises Exchange หลักสูตร Hand-On Workshop Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 อ้างอิงเนื้อหามาจาก Microsoft Press Exam Ref 70-345 เนื้อหาครอบคลุม Exchange Mailbox database, Client Access, Mail Flow, recipients, compliance, และ Exchange Hybrid

ลักษณะการเรียนการสอน

ลักษณะของ Hand-On Workshop จะไม่เหมือนกับหลักสูตร Microsoft Official Curriculum (MOC) ที่ประกอบไปด้วยทฤษฎี 60-70% และ hand-on lab 30-40% แต่ในทางกลับกัน เนื้อหาจะเป็น real-world scenario labs ถึง 70-80% โดยเนื้อหาด้านทฤษฎีจะลดลงเหลือเพียง 20-30% ที่จะกระชับ สรุปสิ่งที่จำเป็น ข้อควรระวัง และ best practices ที่สามารถนำไปใช้ในการทำงานจริงได้อย่างถูกต้องและเหมาะสม

หมายเหตุ: ด้วยเวลาที่มีจำกัด จึงเกรงว่าเราจะควบคุมเนื้อหาและเวลาไม่ได้ ดังนั้นการเรียนจึงถูกออกแบบใหม่ เป็น block ๆ ละ 50 นาที สำหรับ Lecture และ Lab ในแต่ละหัวข้อ โดยมีเวลาพัก 5-10 นาทีสั้นๆ ในแต่ละชั่วโมงครับ

• Plan, deploy and manage compliance, archiving, eDiscovery, and auditing

Real-World Scenario Labs

LAB Environments in Microsoft Azure

• 2 x Domain Controllers (RAM 3.5 GB และ SSD ต่อ 1 VM)
• 3 x Exchange Server 2016 (RAM 14 GB และ SSD ต่อ 1 VM)
• 2 public IP addresses สำหรับติดต่อกับ mail servers ภายนอกบริษัท
• 1 public domain .xyz เพื่อเป็น email domain ของบริษัทเราใน LAB
• 2 virtual subnets เพื่อแบ่ง Active Directory เป็น 2 site สำหรับการทดสอบ Disaster Recovery ด้วย Datacenter Switchover
• ทำ LAB ด้วยการ remote ไปยัง VMs ใน Microsoft Azure

Day 1

Lab 1: Install and Configure Active Directory Domain Services in 2 Sites (10:00 AM - 10:50 AM)

• Promote DC เครื่องแรกใน HQ site
• สร้าง subnet, DR site, และ configure replication interval
• Promote DC เครื่องที่ 2 ใน DR site
• ตรวจสอบ Active Directory replication

Lab 2: Install and configure the first Exchange Server 2016 (11:00 AM - 11:50 AM)

• ติดตั้ง Exchange เครื่องแรกแบบ standalone ใน HQ site
• สร้าง user mailbox
• ทดสอบการใช้งาน ด้วย Outlook on the web, Microsoft Outlook, และ Mobile device

Lab 3: Configure Client Access Services (13:00 PM - 13:50 PM)

• จัดการกับ Internet/intranet DNS records
• ติดตั้งและ configure SSL certificate โดยใช้ free public certificate จาก Comodo
• Configure Outlook Anywhere, MAPI-over-HTTP, virtual directories' URLs, และ autodiscover service
• เปิด firewall port 80, 443, และ 25 เพื่อให้ระบบ On-premises Exchange สามารถติดต่อกับระบบ mail ภายนอกได้ เช่น outlook.com, gmail.com หรือบริษัทอื่นๆ
• ทดสอบการทำงานด้วย Remote Connectivity Analyzer tools

Lab 4: Configure Outbound/Inbound Mail Flow (14:00 PM - 14:50 PM)

• Configure Inbound mail flow ผ่าน MX records ใน Internet DNS servers
• Configure Outbound mail flow ผ่าน DNS หรือ Smart Host
• Port ของ firewall ที่จำเป็นต้องเปิด และการตรวจสอบด้วย network tools
• การ track message header เพื่อตรวจสอบเส้นทางการรับส่ง mail

Lab 5: Create a Database Availability Group (DAG) (15:00 PM - 16:50 PM)

• ติดตั้ง on-premises Exchange เครื่องที่ 2 ใน HQ site
• สร้าง Database Availability Group (DAG)
• Configure mailbox database replication เพื่อสร้าง high availability ของ mailbox server/database ขึ้นที่ HQ site
• เพิ่ม Internet/intranet DNS round robin records สำหรับ Exchange 2 เครื่อง

Lab 6: Monitoring and Troubleshooting Part 1 (17:00 PM - 17:50 PM)

Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) and DNS

• ตรวจสอบการทำงานของ Active Directory
• ตรวจสอบการใช้งาน domain controllers ของ Exchange servers
• ตรวจสอบ DNS, DC health, Time Synchronization
• ปัญหาที่เกี่ยวข้องกับ AD DS และ DNS

Mailbox Servers

• ตรวจสอบ mailbox database replication status
• ตรวจสอบ content indexing status
• (Optional) Repair mailbox database
• ปัญหาที่เกี่ยวข้องกับ Mailbox Server

Day 2

Lab 7: Monitoring and Troubleshooting Part 2 (10:00 AM - 11:50 AM)

Client Access Services

• ตรวจสอบ Exchange services virtual directory URLsม autodiscover services, Outlook Anywhere, MAPI-over-HTTP
• ตรวจสอบ Outlook on the web, Microsoft Outlook, และ mobile devices
• ตรวจสอบ certificate
• ปัญหาที่เกี่ยวข้องกับ Client Access

 

Mail Flow

• Message queues
• การ track การรับส่ง mail จาก message header, delivery report, message tracking log, และ protocol logging
• Back pressure
• ปัญหาที่เกี่ยวข้องกับ Mail Flow

Lab 8: Configure Exchange recipients (11:00 AM - 11:50 AM)

• สร้างและจัดการ User mailboxes
• สร้างและจัดการ Resource mailboxes
• สร้างและจัดการ Groups
• จัดการ E-mail address policy
• จัดการ Address Books

Lab 9: Configure compliance Management (13:00 PM - 13:50 PM)

• สร้างและจัดการ compliance search
• สร้างและจัดการ eDiscovery

Lab 10: Enable Hybrid Connection (14:00 PM - 14:50 PM)

• ติดตั้งและ configure Azure AD Connect (directory synchronization tool)
• Enable hybrid connection

Lab 11: Testing Exchange Hybrid (15:00 PM - 15:50 PM)

• Move mailbox ไปยัง Exchange Online
• ทดสอบการรับส่ง mail กับ Exchange Online
• ตรวจสอบ Client Access, OWA redirection, Mobile redirection, และ Exchange services ใน Exchange hybrid environment

 

Lab 12: Add an Exchange Server 2016 in DAG in a disaster recovery site (16:00 PM - 16:50 PM)

• ติดตั้ง on-premises Exchange เครื่องที่ 3 ใน DAG เดียวกัน แต่อยู่ใน site ที่ 2 หรือ disaster recovery site
• Add mailbox database copy ไปยัง Exchange Server เครื่องที่ 3
• (Optional) จัดการ Internet/intranet DNS round robin records สำหรับ Exchange 3 เครื่องเพื่อทำ site resilience

 

 

Lab 13: Perform Datacenter Switchover (17:00 PM - 17:50 PM)

• ทดสอบ database failover และ switchover
• ทดสอบ dynamic quorum และ dynamic witness
• ทดสอบ last man standing (ปิดเครื่องจนเหลือ Exchange Server เครื่องสุดท้าย)
• ทดสอบการทำ disaster recovery โดยทำให้ primary datacenter (HQ) fail ซึ่งใน lab นี้ผู้เรียนจะได้ทดลองการนำ on-premises Exchange ใน disaster recovery site ขึ้นมา
