The Management System Certification Institute (Thailand) or MASCI was established by the Ministry of Industry under a Cabinet Resolution on 10 September 1998. MASCI is a Networking Institute of the Ministry of Industry, operating under the aegis of the Foundation for Industrial Development (FID). MASCI is a Not-for-Profit Organization with the established purposes as follows:

• To provide certification services according to ISO standards and other system standards
• To enhance the efficiency and quality of Thai industries
• To enhance the national certification capability to a level equal to other countries
• To develop qualified personnel in both the public and private sectors to meet international standards and sufficiently support work at the international level
